No, honestly. See?

The irony: a video of the show, seen by The Indian Express, shows that those two words were read out by V V Rajesh, BJP state secretary, while quoting from pamphlets that he claimed were distributed on the JNU campus and later produced in Parliament by HRD Minister Smriti Irani.

Elsewhere in the story, the Commissioner of Police says:

“All of those arrested are connected to BJP, RSS and Hindu groups, including Sri Rama Sena.”

See the pattern? (I know I keep banging on about this. And I will continue to, because this trend is dangerous): Start a rumor. Amplify rumor. Outrage over “hurt sentiments”. Abuse. Threaten (and if possible, perpetuate) violence. Get caught out. Rinse, repeat elsewhere.

What baffles me is this: Why? What is the gameplan? If it is to fire up the base, the base by definition is yours already — so what do you gain?
