Forensic examination has revealed that three out of the seven video clips of the alleged ‘anti-national’ sloganeering in Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) on February 9, examined by the Delhi government, have been found to be ‘doctored’, sources told the Indian Express on Monday.
The video samples were sent by the Delhi government to Truth Lab in Hyderabad. On February 13, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Delhi had ordered the District Magistrate (New Delhi) to file a factual report about the incident, following conflicting claims of different parties shouting allegedly anti-national slogans on the JNU campus.

Sources confirmed that three video clips that have been found doctored were found with ‘serious’ tampering and ‘very special words’ were inserted in the video clips.
Now to see who investigates the people behind the doctoring, and deliberate transmission, of these fakes — and what cases are filed against them. If any.
Update: The site JanataKaReporter traces a link between the doctored videos and a former aide of Ms Smriti Irani.
A forensic report has revealed that one of Smriti Irani’s former aides had ‘doctored’ videos that accused the JNU students’ leader Kanhaiya Kumar of making anti-India slogans.
Ms Shilpi Tiwari, the aide in question, had circulated some of these videos, promoting them aggressively off her Twitter account (In this, she was no better, no worse, than many other right wing apologists, both in media circles and out). However, nothing in the report cited above indicates how a forensic exam could reveal that she is the one who doctored the video — the jury has to remain out on that one.
The report goes on to document what appears to be an official note that relaxes qualifications for Ms Tiwari and appoints her as consultant under NMEICT, which falls within the purview of the Ministry of Human Resource Development.
